√ 28 and 29 October, 2014 took place two day master class of Etno percussionist Nils Ile named “Rhythm and Sound improvisation”. The event was hosted in lovely 19th Century castle of Cesvaine – surrounded by beautiful nature of Latvia’s Vidzemes region flat-lands.
Two days CESVAINE’S ancient castle walls were filled with the sounds of wide variety of the musical instruments from various corners of this world, percussion rhytms, creativity and warm smiles of children.
Masterclasses were organized by Musiq For Change with support of CESVAINE’S Music and Art School, giving opportunity to children, youth, and adults to attend classes completely free of charge
Classes were open to anybody – regardless of age, gender or musical education.
The main aim was mainly to help children and young people to unleash some deep hiding creativity, learn new and unheard rhythms and versatile sounds that can be transformed into music, as well as to participate in classes teaching how to make own instrument.
Master classes ended with a “free” stage where all participants had opportunity to create mutual musical performance with traditional instruments as welll as own newly created ones.
